Where better to push the energy turnaround than here on the Schleswig-Holstein North Sea coast, where wind, weather and the nature of the inhabitants offer the best conditions for it. The Energieküste network is showing what Germany's climate-neutral future can look like at the Hamburg WindEnergy trade fair at the Schleswig-Holstein joint stand A4.233. "Innovative companies, scientists, creative minds and skilled workers from all over Germany and Europe find a home on the Energieküste. Because the region takes a pioneering role by picking up all the players around renewable energies with its policies, research and funding. In the region, you will find cross-sector partnerships and a scene that doesn't talk for long, but gets down to business," says Dr Matthias Hüppauff, Managing Director of Wirtschaftsförderungsgesellschaft Nordfriesland mbH.
Realising the energy turnaround holistically
As the world's leading trade fair for the international wind energy sector, exhibitors at WindEnergy Hamburg showcase their ideas and developments. The partners of the Energieküste are thinking a lot further ahead: "Our aim is to build up and establish a holistic sustainable energy system. Numerous trend-setting projects that many Energieküste partners are presenting at the Schleswig-Holstein stand demonstrate this," says Annette Fröhlingsdorf, Regional Manager of the Regionale Kooperation Westküste.
Starting with the largest sustainable hydrogen mobility project in Germany, eFarm, which produces hydrogen with green electricity and uses it to power fuel cell buses for local public transport. From the order for 5,000 H2-powered trucks, with which the eFarm initiators, GP Joule GmbH in Reußenköge, will also make heavy goods traffic hydrogen-compatible in the future. All the way to the transmission grid operator Amprion GmbH, which recently joined the Energieküste as the latest partner with the Korridor B project. From the North Sea to North Rhine-Westphalia: The mammoth Korridor B project will supply the Ruhr conurbation with northern German wind power from around the beginning of the 2030s with a total of 700 km of underground cables.
Energieküste makers - sought-after discussion partners
"We are looking forward to taking the concepts we are developing and implementing on the Energieküste to Europe at WindEnergy. The trade fair is excellently positioned internationally and we are sure to have many fruitful discussions", says Kirsten Voss, Project and Marketing Manager of Energieküste. The interest of the European neighbours is great: Voss will present the Energieküste, among other things, at the invitation of the French Embassy on 29 September from 10 a.m. at the French joint stand B6.124. On the evening of 27 September, pioneers, trailblazers and movers and shakers from the Energieküste will also come together with decision-makers from politics and business at the "Meet the Need" get-together at the Liberté at Hamburg's Fischmarkt. The event is organised by the cooperation partners Energieküste, EE.SH, SkySails and TenneT.

The innovative power of the Energieküste and the question "Schleswig-Holstein Wind: Yes, we can - again?" will be the focus of the "Energieküste Talk" on 27 September from 2.45 p.m. in the event area of the joint stand A4.233. Kirsten Voss will welcome the new Schleswig-Holstein Minister for Economics, Transport, Labour, Technology and Tourism, Claus Ruhe Madsen, to the sustainable round of talks. Other guests include Ove Petersen, CEO GP Joule GmbH, Peter Grosse, Cluster Manager and Project Manager at EE.SH and Dr Luis Alejandro Orellano, Managing Director of Thyssenkrupp Marine Systems.

The Schleswig-Holstein North Sea coast is Germany's future location for renewable energies. Experts, researchers, creative minds and energy enthusiasts are shaping a highly innovative energy system from existing resources here. To bundle their know-how, the districts of North Frisia, Dithmarschen, Steinburg and Pinneberg founded the umbrella brand and platform "Energieküste".
