6TH ENERGIEKÜSTE TALK

"Green - the new normal" - Transforming Energy on the west coast

"Climate neutrality will be the pride of an entire generation," said Dr Robert Habeck, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection, in his opening speech at HUSUM WIND 2023. "The future of prosperity depends on renewable energies," Habeck continued.

A lot has already happened at the legislative level, now the industry needs to level out and follow suit.

"We need to drive sales of wind energy in order to be able to finance further projects. 50% of German electrolysers will be built in Schleswig-Holstein," said Ove Petersen, CEO of the GP JOULE Group, in the subsequent panel discussion.

Multi-green: The fact that it is not only the wind energy sector in Schleswig-Holstein that is working on decarbonisation with innovation and commitment was impressively demonstrated at the WTSH stand. Solar, hydrogen & co. could also be admired throughout the wind fair.

"People want to make the energy transition, we are moving forward," said Claudius Teske, District Administrator of Steinburg District, at the ENERGIEKÜSTE TALK "Green - the new normal" on the first day of the trade fair. Genuine green energy in abundance and much more - the locational advantages on the Energieküste are unique. And the energy transition is progressing faster here than anywhere else in Germany.

The Energieküste is a success story that has developed over the last few years.

The best prospects for attracting skilled labour. "The existing quality of life is what makes the Energieküste so interesting for people to live here," says Florian Lorenzen, Chairman of the West Coast Regional Cooperation and District Administrator of Nordfriesland.

Afterwards, the "talk round" with Annette Fröhlingsdorf, Projektgesellschaft Norderelbe MbH, and Energieküste project manager Kirsten Voss took a short tour of the trade fair. The first destination was the Energieküste pioneer GP JOULE Group, which as usual presented many innovative projects for the energy transition. With great interest, the district councillors also followed, for example, the kite presentation by SkySails and, at the Schleswig-Holstein joint stand in the outdoor area, the two-axis tracking solar tracker PVmover from Energieküste partner SunOyster Systems GmbH.
